In this blog post, Olivia + Laura share cute date ideas (whether with your SO or friends) to help romanticize fall!

Fall in love with the season of crisp, cool breezes, rustling leaves, and the intoxicating aroma of pumpkin spice. As summer's warmth steps aside for the chill air of fall, there's something undeniably romantic about the transition.

Whether you are celebrating this transition with a significant other or your girlfriends, here are a few ways to romanticize fall!

Apple Picking

What better way to mark the changing of seasons than with a trip to an apple orchard! As basic as it might seem, who doesn't love this activity year after year. Apple picking season began in early September and ends as late as early November - depending on the orchard.

Fall Baking

Have an abundance of apples from apple picking? Bake a fall themed (maybe apple-based) dessert with your significant other or besties for a cozy night in! Pair it with a movie night and enjoy your homemade treats!

Paint or Carve Pumpkins

Carving or painting pumpkins might be another basic fall activity but it perfectly sets the mood for the entire season! Display your work on your front porch as the days lead up to Halloween.

Scary Movie Night

Select a lineup of thrilling, spooky, or Halloween-themed movies, prepare some popcorn and hot cocoa, and snuggle under warm blankets. And if scary movies are not your thing, rewatch some Gilmore Girls episodes!

Garden of Light

If you are from Montreal, the Botanical Gardens hosts the Gardens of Light event every year where all three cultural gardens of the Botanical Garden — the Chinese Garden, the First Nations Garden and the Japanese Garden — are illuminated with light.

The event runs every day and night until October 31st so don't miss out on this amazing experience!

Take a Road Trip

Fall is truly the best time for a road trip to anywhere. It is the perfect way to see the best views with all the fall leaves changing colours. I suggest taking a day trip to Saint Sauveur or Mont Tremblant for a gorgeous drive out of the city.

Go on a Hike

If driving isn't your thing, a fall hike is another amazing way to see the colourful fall leaves. Hike up Mount Royal or visit your local nature park for a relaxing walk through nature. The best time to enjoy the crisp fall weather before the snow comes, take advantage!

How are you romanticizing fall this year? Share it on Instagram!

Expect more fall related posts to come -- it's not over until I say it's over!

Xoxo,

Laura from Olivia + Laura
