Whether we like it or not, autumn is upon us. So, it’s time to hang up our bikinis and bundle up with these 2020 fall fashion trends. #oliviaandlaura

Welcome back to Olivia + Laura,
This article means that summer is coming to an end but don’t fret because that means sweater weather is here. So, curl up by a warm fire with some hot cocoa (or our famous iced coffee—your choice) and enjoy as we break down all the newest, yet very vintage, autumn fashion trends.
Leather Blazers
Leather has always been such a fall staple and it continues to be! This fall, leather blazers, and jackets are all the rave. They are so easy to layer over any basic outfit. Take some mom jeans (a bit of a darker wash for fall), a white tee or turtleneck — depending on the weather and style your leather blazer over top. For a night out, wear your oversized leather blazer as a dress and use a belt to cinch the waist. Accessorize with some heeled booties and you’re ready for date night!
Sweater Vests
Vintage sweater vests are making a comeback in 2020 and we are so here for it! They are one of the biggest fall trends this year. They are so versatile to style and come in so many different styles. So many stores are now selling sweater vests to keep up with the trend however if you want to style a true vintage sweater vest — take a deep dive into your Nonno’s closet! I promise you won’t be disappointed with your finds. Not only will they be super vintage, but they will also be a little oversized for the perfect baggy look. Way too oversized? Try cinching at the waist with a belt and wear it as a dress! Told you it was versatile — shop some of our favs below!
The sweater vest styled below is from H&M and is only $30! Make sure to add it to you cart before it sells out!

Knit Collared Tops
These knit collared tops are perfect for transiting into fall fashion! For those days that are still a little too warm for chunky knits, these tops are a must-have! Style with a pair of skinny jeans or mom jeans, accessorize with a mini handbag and a short, choker length, gold necklace. If it is a little cooler outside, layer on a leather jacket and voila! These tops are the basic white t-shirts of fall — so simple yet so stylish!
Trench Coats
Trench coats are such a fall staple. The classic beige color gives us all the fall vibes and matches those nude tones that we love so much! These thin, lightweight coats are a great transition piece from summer to fall. Trench coats can be styled so many different ways, from being layered over jeans and a hoodie to a fitted midi dress for a night out. We love that they also come in different lengths. For our shorter gals, don’t shy away from the longline trench coats — style with a pair of chunky heeled boots for some height and you’re good to go!
Faux Leather Pants
Leather pants were a recurrent look last year and they are making an even greater comeback this fall. These pants come in a variety of colors as well as styles and are versatile enough to wear for a night out and then again for brunch with the girls. All stores have these in their Autumn/Winter collection so hurry on over to pick yourself up a pair! Here are some of our favorites.
Overshirt Jackets
The most important staple of the cold weather seasons is a jacket. Nonetheless, just because we have to bundle up doesn’t mean we have to compromise on style. The overshirt jacket has been making a huge appearance on our Instagram feeds lately and that is probably because it is a comfortable addition to one’s closet. Simply match this jacket with joggers or a pair of leggings to complete your look. Be sure to add this jacket to your collection.
Croc-Embroidered Chunky Heel Boots
Boots signify the beginning of the cold weather seasons but we're not complaining because this has to be our favorite trend. The croc-embroidered style and chunky heel add an edgy flair to any look—but most importantly, a chunky heel will make walking easier by increasing comfort. Boots like these will be seen in the street style looks, and you can find this trend as knee-high boots and booties!
Headbands
Who would’ve thought that headbands would make a comeback? But not just any headbands—the thick embroidered ones to be exact. This season, preppy looks will be seen all over your city streets and you can find these headbands for inexpensive at any store, like Ardene or even Zara. I wish I wouldn’t have gotten rid of all my headbands. Looks like nothing ever really goes out of style.
Shades of Beige
We couldn’t end this article without mentioning this fashion trend, which is anything beige. Just scroll through Zara, H&M, or Dynamite and you will see that everything comes in a shade of beige, especially all the fashion trends mentioned above. This color is neutral so it can be paired with anything and Olivia & Laura already have fall looks style with this color palette in mind.
We may not be fans of the cold, but we are huge fans of fashion and the autumn is when our best looks are brought to light.
